I have always been interested in the craft of jewelry and our profound need for self-adornment. Recognition of the intrinsic beauty of metals and minerals led to their use in jewelry making from the earliest civilizations in Mesopotamia to modern times.
My designed and hand-fabricated pieces focus on dimension, balance, texture, and scale. Geometry plays an important role in their configuration.
My metal pieces vary in finish. Some are highly polished, while others are designed with texture, pattern, or matte patina.
I also create beaded jewelry, using gold, silver semi-precious stones, and colorful glass.
I have a B.A. and M.A. in the arts and have worked extensively with children in art education (introducing the graphic arts into the curriculum). Prior to that, I served as an interior designer in both contract and residential designing.
